Testamento

En-el-nombre-de-Dios-todo-poderoso

The discovery of a last will and testament was very important as it opened a window to the past and gave me an idea of what life was like in the 18th century for this family. I can only imagine what it was like for my ancestors to have land, cattle, gold and silver jewelry and even slaves. I hope to continue writing about this prominent family that began in Coamo and branched out to Cayey and Caguas and finally brought my family to the United States, leaving behind a great story that I was able to discover in the 21st century.

Corrections

On page 5, Num 10, I incorrectly stated the image as 165 and 166; it should read Image 265. In addition, I incorrectly identified one of the children being baptized as Nicolása. It should read Narcisa. Thank you to J. Jimenez for pointing that out to me. Image 265
