Maunabo, Puerto Rico Digitized Church Records

Manuabo Digitized Church Records, although there are not any records of Burials, you can still do some decent research on these records.

Observations of the Parroquial Books

Translation, Los Archivos Historicos de Puerto Rico. Apuntes de una Visita, 1960. Don Gomez, “It does not have a significant parish archive, but it is worth mentioning some of its oldest records. There is one of the marriages that covers from 1802 to 1838. From 1804, Don Juan Baldomero Gautier appeared as a parish priest; On November 26, 1811, Father Bernard of Obon, and on March 17, 1813, Bishop Arizmendi signed his visit order.”

Manuabo Digitized Church Records Marriage Books

The first marriage book commenced in 1802. It appears Book 2 is missing. These books are in poor condition, so patience is required. I have found individuals in the index, but the record may be missing, especially the first few pages. If your family is from this area, they may connect to Patillas. Therefore it is essential to look at those books as well. Recently I have made some discoveries that have connected families from Coamo to Maunabo.

Digitized Church Records Burials

It appears that the books covering the death of its residents in Maunabo have been lost. So, unfortunately, you may not find your ancestors. Therefore it is crucial to investigate siblings of the direct ancestor you are researching. Despite the missing documents, I went back a few generations to locate baptism and wedding records.
